Orange Health Care is an accredited and approved provider of Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) nursing services, delivering person-centred care to veterans, war widows and widowers in the comfort of their own homes. We complete a Comprehensive Community Nursing Assessment for every eligible client, so care is tailored to individual needs.
Veterans' Home Care (VHC)
Practical support to help veterans keep living independently at home:
- Domestic assistance and household cleaning.
- Lawn mowing, garden maintenance and minor home repairs.
- Personal care and meal preparation.
- Shopping, transport and social support.
- Respite support for carers.
Eligibility and referrals
If you hold a DVA Gold or White Card, you may be eligible for funded Community Nursing and Veterans’ Home Care. We accept referrals from GPs, hospital doctors and discharge planners, then arrange a meeting to create a personalised care plan. Our team can help you understand eligibility and any costs.
DVA Community Nursing
Our qualified nurses provide consistent, dependable clinical and personal care, including:
Personal Care
Hygiene, showering and dressing.
Medication support
Prompting, administering and monitoring.
Rehabilitation and prescribed exercises.
Wound, skin and pressure area care.
Continence and catheter care (including suprapubic).
PEG and nasogastric tube feeding.
Diabetes and chronic disease management.
Palliative care, pain and symptom management.
Falls prevention, case management and allied health referrals.
