Medium Term Accommodation (MTA)

Supported housing while you transition to your long-term home

Medium Term Accommodation provides safe, comfortable temporary housing for NDIS participants waiting to move into their permanent home — for up to 90 days — so you stay supported and connected throughout the transition.

Funding

MTA is funded through the NDIS Core Supports budget for eligible participants, usually where a long-term home has been identified. Everyday living costs such as groceries remain your responsibility. We can help you check your options.

How we support you

Beyond a place to stay, we provide personal care, daily living and community support, medication and meal assistance, nursing where required, and help preparing for your long-term home — working closely with your family, support coordinator and health team.

When MTA might be needed

  • Waiting for home modifications or a new SDA property.
  • Transitioning from hospital, rehabilitation or aged care.
  • Waiting for essential assistive technology or equipment.
  • A breakdown in your current accommodation or supports.
